Urban Legend
My favorite urban legend is the Easter Bunny. I like the easter bunny because you get free candy (mostly chocolate, any girls dream). I think that its a cool urban legend because there are a lot of cool activities that a lot of people can participate in. For example you can go egg hunting, you can color eggs, hide baskets full of eggs, and go sit on the easter bunny's lap at your local mall and get your picture taken. The bunny costumes that they wear are the cutest things ever!! I have to be dragged away from hugging the bunny suit. :)

blogging
I think blogging is okay because everyone gets to see your thoughts on things, without having to sit there and tell everyone. People can come across your blogs and see what you think and feel and then try to relate it to them and then create their own blog. I first started blogging when I was in 8th grade, kinda faded and then when I got myspace I started blogging on there. The only bad side to blogging is that, everything you say can be used against you. Unlike said words, that can go unproven. Blogging all you have to do is print and everything can be held and used. This of course has its advantages and disadvantages. At least when you have assignments to blog, you can do them wherever.

Media Violence
To me, media violence is when acts of physical harmful things are done and used before someone's eyes. For example, video games are a way of media violence because they have many examples in normal gameplay. Some games that have violence in them are the Tekken series, which is characters fighting each other, Tomb Raider which has someone going through different places, killing animals like bats and wolves and tigers and sometimes other people when she comes across them. Most video games that are meant for kids have some sort of violence because typically you have to beat someone down in order to move on to the next level.
Another way that the media puts violence before us is in movies and in cartoons. Even though movies have different ratings that tell you if there is violence or not, sometimes kids can still get their hands on these movies or sometimes may watch them with their parents and get wrong ideas that its okay to do what they see. This is sometimes how bullies start and fights on the playground over the monkey bars and they get way out of hand. With cartoons they’re trying to get rid of all the ones that have violence in them. An example of a cartoon that is still on the air and that has violence is Tom and Jerry. They each go around hitting each other with objects while chasing each other around (this was also turned into a video game for the PS1) .
Lastly a way that violence is in the media is sometimes in books or magazines. In some magazines it has information about things going on in the world and sometimes it has violence. Kids may pick it up decide to read it and think that maybe an incident that happened is a good idea to try. For some entertainment magazines they can have topics that are based on violence. Then, some of the things above may occur.
In conclusion, to me, media violence is when something of violent nature is able to be seen and is, and throws off a negative effect on people. There are ways of avoiding violent things getting into other peoples hands that it shouldn’t, but there are always ways of getting around this.
